My client is a mixed comprehensive located in the popular Havering, Essex. They have asked Remedy Education to help to recruit a long-term Graduate Teaching Assistant to work on a 1 to 1 basis with SEN pupils in their dedicated Special Needs Department.

This Teaching Assistant role is perfect for a Psychology Graduate that is an aspiring Education Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist.

POSITION: Secondary Teaching Assistant

SCHOOL: Mixed secondary school graded as a 'Good school with outstanding features'

LOCATION: Havering, Essex

TRANSPORT: Close to the District line, C2C and Overground

PERSON: Graduate with a 2:1 or higher & a passion for working with SEN pupils

SALARY: £70-85 per day

TEACHING ASSISTANT PERSON SPECIFICATION:

The SENCO and the Head of Learning Support are looking for a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join their successful team as soon as possible. You must be a Graduate with at least a 2:1 from a reputable university and the desire to work with secondary aged pupils that have a variety of special educational needs. These needs could include, Downs Syndrome, Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties or Autism. You will need to be of a calm nature but have the ability to assert your authority where necessary.

TEACHING ASSISTANT JOB SPECIFICATION:

This Graduate Learning Support Assistant role has become available due to some new pupils joining the school. Your job responsibilities will include: attending class with the pupils (ensuring that they are understanding the lessons). Working on a 1 to 1 basis with the pupils out of class and general in class support for the teachers. Your mentor will be a highly experienced HLTA that has a huge amount of knowledge about the Special Educational Needs sector. If you are a future Educational or Clinical Psychologist in the making, then this could be the perfect role for you! You will gain a true insight into what can be a very rewarding career.
