School Caretaker - Split Shift

Location: Newham, East Ham, London (between two nearby schools)
Hours:
* Morning: 6:30am - 9:30am
* Afternoon/Evening: 3:00pm - 6:30pm
Contract: Ongoing / Long-term
Start: ASAP

About the Role

We are working with two friendly schools in East Ham who are looking for a reliable and hands-on School Caretaker to support the day-to-day running of their sites. This is a split-shift role, ideal for someone local and experienced in school or site management environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school buildings

• Basic maintenance and minor repairs

• Health & Safety checks and site inspections

• Setting up rooms and halls as required

• Grounds maintenance and litter picking

• Supporting fire safety procedures and alarms

• Liaising with school staff and contractors

Requirements

• Previous caretaker or site assistant experience (school experience preferred)

• Good understanding of Health & Safety

• Reliable, punctual, and practical

• Able to work independently across two sites

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
