Job description
Principal Social Worker - Cardiff Council - Kinship Fostering Team - Up to £40ph!
- Cardiff Council are currently recruiting experienced Principal Social Workers to work within our Kinship Fostering Team.
- The PSW will have supervisory responsibilities for a small caseload of Kinship Foster Carers.
- In addition they will have some supervisory responsibilities for staff within the team, including providing oversight, and advice to staff in respect of case management, and monitoring of annual reviews to ensure compliance with timescales and Fostering Regulations.
- The successful candidate MUST have SAFEGUARDING and CHILD PROTECTION knowledge, and be confident with dealing with enquiries and allegations related to our kinship foster carers.
- You must be flexible and able to work under pressure. Due to the nature of the role candidates will be expected to act as agency representative (for kinship cases) on the Cardiff fostering panel.
- Candidates must have at least 5 years' post qualifying experience, and satisfy the relevant registration requirements for the role.
- Candidates must have worked, and have supervisory experience, within a fostering team.
- Candidate must have experience in managing a duty system for the team
