Primary Teaching Assistant

Start Date: ASAP
Location: Lambeth
Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8.30am until 3.30pm
Salary: £100 - £115 per day

About the role/school

A nurturing and inclusive 2-form entry primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is based in Year 2 and will give the successful candidate the opportunity to make a real impact in the classroom. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will be working with the whole class as well as providing targeted SEN support, ensuring every child has the best possible learning experience.

Job Responsibilities

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Year 2 as a whole class TA, while also working with SEN pupils
  • Leading a daily phonics group (Read Write Inc phonics experience would be ideal)
  • Assisting in delivering intervention groups to boost learning progress
  • Using strong behaviour management strategies to support the class
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other staff as a committed Primary Teaching Assistant

Qualifications/Experience

To succeed as a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will need:

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Experience in primary schools, ideally with phonics and SEN support
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
