Primary SEN Teaching Assistant - EYFS - Lambeth, South East London

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant seeking a new role to start ASAP in a local Lambeth, South East London Primary School?

Do you have experience working with ASD and experience working in EYFS?

Are you patient and nurturing with a passion of working with young children with SEN?

Are you available full time to start ASAP until July 2022?

A friendly and welcoming primary school in Lambeth, South East London are looking for an experienced and passionate primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join them ASAP on a full time basis to work with a child in EYFS (Reception) who has non verbal ASD.

This role will be contracted until July 2022 with the view of a permanent contract from September 2022.

This primary school are looking for an experienced Primary SEN Teaching Assistant who has particular experience working with non-verbal ASD and challenging behaviour. You must have an understanding of the EYFS curriculum and have good behaviour management strategies.

This role will have an element of personal care for the first few weeks/months. Ideally you will have experience changing nappies/ helping with toileting or be open to it. You will be well supported in doing this.

You must have knowledge of work station, PECs and have at least 6 months experience working 1:1 supporting children with ASD.

As this child's 1:1 Teaching Assistant you will be required to support them and offer stability in class to ensure the environment around them is as engaging as possible.

The child you will be working with is new to education and is looking for a teaching assistant who is emphatic and patient. They are looking for someone who is creative and has methods in assisting with their behaviour and learning. They are wanting someone who is nurturing and has experience with their particular needs. This is their first time in school so it will take time for them to gain a routine so ideally they are looking for someone who has an understanding of ASD or a TA who is wanting to embark on a career working with SEN.

You will be required to work alongside the class teacher and SENCo to plan and prepare fun and engaging lessons to help this particular child to integrate, develop social skills and to raise attainment.

You must have good spoken & written English. You must hold A-C in English & Maths GCSE. Ideally you will hold either a degree or a level 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning or a relevant TA qualification.
