Are you a teaching assistant with experience in the care sector looking for your next role in special needs schools?
Remedy Education are looking for a teaching assistant with PMLD experience for a Special needs school in Southwark. Candidates will be working alongside and supporting pupils with ASC, PMLD, SEMH and SLD.
Remedy Education are working with a specialist support Primary and Secondary school that caters for children with Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLT) and Autism. They have a fantastic committed, caring and supportive team. The curriculum and exciting learning environment are uniquely differentiated to meet the needs and requirements of pupils. The school have also developed an outreach program in 2 local mainstream schools offering SEN advice and support to staff and students.

The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working in a care setting, child or adult
- Experience working with SLD, MLD or Autistic pupils is preferred but not essential
- Pupils are verbal some have additional needs as such experience with SEN pupils is required in either a mainstream or SEN setting
- Ability to respond to everyday situations
- Ability to communicate with others clearly
- PECS and Makaton experience is desired.
- Passionate, caring and approachable personality
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Working in small groups or 1:1 with students on the autistic spectrum
- supporting class teacher
- Supporting Pupils with EHC Plans and Social and Emotional Behaviour Difficulties
- help continue to create a positive learning atmosphere
- Develop good professional relationships with students and other staff member
