Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Personal Advisor to work within a Leaving Care Team for Surrey County Council based in Reigate & Banstead.

Job Purpose

To case hold and provide support to young people, aged 18 - 21 years and up to 25 if in higher education, who have ceased to be looked after by the local authority and who are eligible for a service as per the Children Leaving Care Act 2000 that allows them to achieve their potential as they make their transition to adulthood. This includes asylum seeking young people (referred to as Relevant and Former Relevant young people).

Personal Advisers will carry out joint working on cases from 16 - 18 years and participate in the assessment and preparation of Pathway Plans and assessments for Eligible young people.

The Pathway Plan sets out the young persons aspirations regarding education, accommodation, health, social relationships and specific needs and for asylum seeking children how their immigration status may impact on these areas.

Alongside this PA's maybe responsible for representing the Leaving Care Service at working groups such as participation events and at Care Council meetings and participate in specific projects.

The role holder may advocate for Care Leavers and recommend services, and while they hold no direct budget responsibilities, they would be required to have an understanding of the finance policy and Local Authority budget finance policy/ guidelines, in line with their assessment of needs.

Alongside their caseload PA's will be required to carry out duty on a rota basis.
