Job description

Are you a patient, resilient, and caring individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people who need extra support outside of a mainstream classroom setting?

We're working with an alternative provision that's looking for a dedicated Outreach Learning Support Assistant SEN (LSA) to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on helping students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and re-engage with education.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 / 2:1 and small group support for students in an outreach setting (often off-site or within community locations).

  • Work closely with tutors to deliver tailored learning and behaviour support.

  • Help students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs to develop coping skills and resilience.

  • Maintain consistent communication with the main school to monitor and report on student progress.

  • Use creative and flexible approaches to engage young people who may have experienced trauma or disrupted education.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with SEMH, behaviour support, or outreach students is highly desirable.

  • Calm, patient, and confident working with students who may display challenging behaviour.

  • A positive role model who can build strong, trusting relationships with young people.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car

  • Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply for one.
