This role is to be the main point of contact for substance misuse queries and day-to-day liaison between the services and the local authority.

Role will support the local authority's residential treatment panel and develop the local authority's drug and alcohol-related death panel.

Responsible for setting up and leading on the multi-agency programme board to oversee the significant new funding Newham has been awarded as part of the government's new drug strategy, and put in place KPIs to monitor the impact of the new funding to shape future years' plans.

The role is overseen by a senior commissioner who is the lead for substance misuse and domestic and sexual violence commissioning.

Essential: Experience of substance misuse services and broad experience of commissioning in a local authority.

Desirable: public health commissioning.
