Job description

Both Newham and Havering have M365 transformation programmes (Newham's programme is being implemented through the Future Newham Transformation Programme), the projects of which include:

* Implementation of Information governance, architecture and security policies

* Migrating HDrive files to OneDrive

* Migrating shared folders and sites to Sharepoint Online

* The organisational adoption and engagement of Teams The project will also undertake the remediation works relating to Windows 7 which will transition all of Newham's libraries onto Windows 10.

Responsiblities include;

  • Control and manage discrete ICT projects using agreed methodologies.
  • Ensure that all plans, work packages and deliverables deliver the expected benefits.
  • Identify and manage implementation risks effectively, ensuring timely resolution and escalation, in line with agreed risk management standards.
  • Ensure that all ICT implementation deliverables are managed through the correct change management procedure.
  • Estimate and schedule ICT implementation resources using formal project management techniques and tools.
  • Assist on the procurement of ICT systems and supply contract negotiations as appropriate.
  • Create and maintain formal project management documentation for ICT implementation and report on a consistent basis to the project board.
  • Deliver appropriate ICT solutions and services to enable the strategic and business objectives of the Council in accordance with defined quality criteria.
  • Provide effective leadership to the project team, taking appropriate action where performance deviates from agreed tolerances. This will include resource planning of specialist or expert resources across projects.
  • Negotiate with the project board and other stakeholders to ensure successful ICT implementation outcomes.
  • Construct and agree the ICT implementation project budgets, and to monitor and manage the budgets on an ongoing basis reporting regularly (monthly, or as otherwise required) thereon.
  • Meet regularly with customers to discuss and review ICT implementation requirements and performance, ensuring that service standards and performance are agreed, documented and monitored in line with the ICT Strategy and council policies and procedures.
