Learning Support Assistant

We are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist setting in Wandsworth. This role in Wandsworth focuses on supporting high-quality education and training for learners aged 11 to 19, working as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils aged 11 to 19 with SEN, working closely with teachers as a SEN Teaching Assistant. Based in Wandsworth, you will help students access education and training through structured, inclusive support.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students aged 11-19 with SEN
  • Support learners with complex needs to access lessons and daily routines
  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering adapted activities
  • Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and engagement in learning
  • Support students during transitions, break times, and unstructured periods
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
