This role is to support the Senior Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) by investigating and managing allegations against people who work in paid employment or who are in voluntary work with children and young people either in a paid or voluntary capacity across Medway.

To contribute to the operation of a LADO professional consultation service, providing advice and information to staff within Medway Council and partner agencies and organisations regarding allegations management and safe employment in order to maximise the safety and welfare of children and young people.

To ensure that the child or young person's voice is heard and that they and their family appropriately participate in the investigative process relating to allegations management and that the child or young person's interests are paramount.

To ensure that investigations and associated actions to protect a child or young person are implemented in a timely manner.
