Job description

Remedy Education are looking for a High Level Teaching assistant for a primary school based in Wandsworth.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a strong, confident individual with excellent behaviour management skills
  • Be able to cover classes across the school
  • Work as a member of a team to support the developmental needs of children
  • Be flexible and understand that every day will be different
  • Be able to 'think on their feet'
  • Have a thorough knowledge of both key stages (and preferably experience)
  • Will be patient and caring with the ability to build good relationships with children and work closelywith parents and other professionals
  • Plan and organise learning materials and make imaginative use of resources
  • Be able to use their own initiative and have a good standard of written English

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Knowledge of relevant training strategies eg English, Maths etc
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills Time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 4 in English and Maths
  • Ability to organise, lead and motivate a team
  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities

Ability to relate well to children and adults

  • Relevant knowledge of basic first aid
