Senior Practitioner - Hillingdon - CIN / CP Team

This role is for an experienced, knowledgeable, skilled social worker who has capacity to invest their energy into achieving better and better outcomes for children and their families every day. The client group is Children who are at risk of contextual safeguarding risk such as child criminal exploitation, child sexual exploitation, radicalisation, missing, serious youth violence and accompanying family breakdown. It involves working alongside families and young people to reduce risk to the children in a timely manner. The holder of this post is accountable for the development and delivery of service wide practice improvement activity in line with policy, best practice, professional standards, and legislation, ensuring our young people are always at the centre of our intervention chain. The holder will ensure that our 'hard to reach' young people and their families receive intensive support through direct work, being creative, with timely assessments. The role involves working closely with young people to co-produce their own plans and encourage them to chair/co-chair their own review meetings, implement relational & restorative social work practice models while allowing the young people to be experts of their own circumstances. The post holder must have a solid appreciation of the statutory frameworks governing good practice in relation to children in need of help and protection as well as an understanding of generic social work practice models. A creative and flexible approach to work and the drive and motivation to work with young people whose needs are complex is cardinal. Good people skills are a must. ? Manage social work caseload of more complex nature and with high levels of autonomy. ? Provide expert professional and technical advice to other Social Workers, colleagues, and partners. ? Supporting caseload management and promoting reflective practice and continuous professional development. ? Demonstrate skilled use of range of frameworks for assessment and intervention. ? Model and help others develop social work professionalism and effective caseload management. ? Establish network of internal and external colleagues to support effective practice. ? Prepare court proceeding reports acting as expert testimony in Care or Private proceedings. ? Participate in Panel processes. ? Chair professional meetings with inter-agency partners and clients. ? To produce management information and analysis. ? Participate in team planning and contribute to the delivery of team and service plans. ? Demonstrate awareness and compliance with required Standards including the Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework (Experienced Social Worker level).

Your main responsibilities include:

* Hold and effectively manage a complex and varied caseload with appropriate supervision, guidance, and support, reflecting the function of the team and the Vulnerable People Service in accordance with policy, procedures, guidance and legislation.
* Undertake work within legislative frameworks including the preparation of written statements and representations to the judiciary at Court hearings.
* You will be accountable for complex decision making in relation to caseloads ensuring professional judgement, service user involvement, needs led assessment, critical reflection, and analysis to inform this.
* You will identify and assess levels of risk and need (within statutory frameworks) in often complex situations. Undertake safeguarding investigations and deliver protective and/or supportive services for individuals at risk and maintain up to date assessments, care plans and reviews.
* You will be preparing statements of need/care and support plans, in consultation with other agencies as appropriate, that reflect the wishes of the individual and lead to the commissioning of personalised packages of care.
* You will undertake direct work with adults and their families in line with care plans.
* You will work co-operatively with both internal and external colleagues across multi - agency boundaries.

Essential requirements:

* Social Work England registration
* Eligible to work in the UK
* 2 years+ post-qualified experience
* Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
