Job description
To provide strategic leadership across the Harrow Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSCP) and the Harrow Adults Safeguarding Board to improve outcomes for vulnerable children, families and adult citizens. The role will strengthen the strategic partnership approach to safeguarding in Harrow This role has been developed following the redesign of the Safeguarding Structure in 2019.
It has full responsibility for all the support provided to the Multi agency Children's Partnership and takes responsibility for the three sub-groups that support both boards. In addition, this role manages the strategic partnership response to serious incidents, which require a child safeguarding practice review, a safeguarding adults review or some form of local learning review.
This work requires a high degree of expert knowledge across both sectors, and senior leadership skills to manage issues which could impact on the reputation of the Council and statutory partners
There are a number of Statutory Acts and Regulations, for which this role takes responsibility, on behalf of the multi-agency partnership including The Children Act 2004, The Care Act 2014, and The Safeguarding Practice Review and Relevant Agency Regulations.
There is also a significant responsibility for this role to be familiar with the statutory requirements of Child Death Overview Guidance, Working Together 2018, The Care Act Guidance and Keeping Children Safe in Education, in order to deliver the strategic responsibilities of the partnership.
