Graduate Teaching Assistant - SEN Support (South East London)
Location: Primary & Secondary Schools across South East London
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: September 2025 (or ASAP)
Pay: £95 - £120 per day (depending on experience and school)

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? Are you considering a career in education, psychology, therapy, or child development?

Remedy Education is working with a range of supportive and forward-thinking primary and secondary schools across South East London, who are seeking Graduate Teaching Assistants to support students with SEN, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech & language needs, and emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Ideal for Graduates in:

  • Psychology - gain practical experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs

  • English or Humanities - help develop communication, literacy, and reading skills in SEN pupils

  • Sociology or Criminology - build positive relationships and support students with behavioural challenges

  • Education Studies - put your theory into practice and prepare for teacher training

  • Speech & Language/Health Sciences - work alongside therapists and develop clinical insight

About the Role:

  • Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups with learning, communication, and behaviour

  • Working closely with SENCOs, class teachers, and therapists

  • Helping pupils access the curriculum and engage in school life

  • Building strong, trusting relationships and offering emotional support

  • Opportunity to gain paid experience before pursuing teacher training, educational psychology, or therapy routes

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree (ideally 2:2 or above) in a relevant subject

  • A genuine interest in working with children with SEN

  • Reliable, patient, and proactive with strong communication skills

  • Previous experience with children or young people (formal or informal) is a bonus

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
