The post holder will undertake parks and grounds maintenance works as part of the parks section. Duties will include a variety of horticultural and cleansing operations, emptying dog and litter bins, and manual sweeping if required. The post holder will also be required to drive and operate various vehicles and items of plant and equipment. To cover works related to parks and open spaces including fine turf management eg bowls greens and cricket throughout the borough

Grounds maintenance of Council owned land, including formal public parks and open spaces. This will include where necessary grass cutting, shrub/hedge trimming, clearing leaves, litter and debris plus constructional labouring work, and the erection and dismantling of sports and other equipment.

Undertake horticultural operations such as planting, pruning and seeding, ground maintenance, for example, basic setting out and marking of sports areas and upkeep of artificial/synthetic pitches.

The use of powered hand tools and light plant.

To undertake driving duties, this will include Transit type trucks including trailers, horticultural equipment such as triple/rotary mowing machines. At such times the post holder will be responsible for the allocated vehicle including undertaking vehicle checks and minor routine maintenance operations.
