Job description

Remedy Education is looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to work in a large, successful and welcoming primary school in Lewisham. The school is graded 'Outstanding' in all areas and offers exceptional education and care for the children. The position is to begin September, is full-time and is an ongoing position. The role is a general position to provide support for the children in all areas, including leading small groups for learning activities, making and recording observations, making resources, supporting the children with creative activities, supervising outdoor play, and engaging with the children to model and teach excellent communication skills.

The school has a positive ethos and staff work well together in a team that is extremely supportive. Both experienced staff and those with a recent qualification are welcome to apply, but you must have experience within the EYFS setting, and have strong knowledge of the curriculum for this age group. It is essential that you have led groups in learning activities in core areas of the EYFS curriculum, including Literacy, Maths and Phonics. The school has a positive approach to behaviour management.

The Teaching Assistant will need:

  • Experience within Early Years
  • Confidence to support groups of children with learning and play activities independently
  • Patience and a calm approach
  • To be available full-time from September 2021

To be considered for this position, you would need to have a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, or other suitable qualification, at BTEC, A-Level or Degree standard. For example:
