About the Role
We are seeking skilled and enthusiastic Locum Educational Psychologists to join a dynamic and supportive Educational Psychology Service based in Peterborough. This opportunity is ideal for HCPC-registered Educational Psychologists or those in Year 2 or 3 of doctoral training who are looking for flexible working arrangements while maintaining a high level of professional engagement.
The role involves mainly face-to-face work in schools and educational settings across the Peterborough area, offering a great opportunity to build meaningful relationships with schools, children, young people, and families.

About the Service
You will be joining a well-established and highly regarded Educational Psychology Service that works closely with schools, settings, and families to support positive outcomes for children and young people. The service is known for:
Delivering both statutory (EHCNA) and traded work across a range of settings.
Operating through a consultation-led model, promoting early intervention and collaborative problem-solving.
Providing training and supervision programmes, including initiatives such as ELSA and MELSA.
Maintaining a strong focus on continuous professional development, supervision, and reflective practice.
Working in partnership with Trainee Educational Psychologists, Assistants, and Psychology Assistants to extend access to psychological services.
As a Locum Educational Psychologist, you will:
Deliver face-to-face consultations, assessments, and psychological advice in schools and educational settings across Peterborough.
Support schools in delivering the graduated approach and inclusive practices for children and young people with additional needs.
Apply up-to-date psychological theory, research, and legislation to inform practice.
Design and deliver training and supervision for education staff.
Contribute to service development and bring your own professional expertise to a supportive team environment.
We are looking for professionals who are:
HCPC-registered Educational Psychologists (or in Year 2/3 of doctoral training).
Strong communicators with excellent interpersonal and consultation skills.
Confident in delivering psychology in a face-to-face, community-based role.
Reflective, organised, and able to manage their own caseload effectively.
Flexible and able to adapt to the needs of schools and families.
