JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
You would be required to distribute preset work to the class and collect the work in at the end and return to the department. In between the lesson start and finish time you would be expected to keep pupils on task by integrating with them, checking progress and managing behaviour in the classroom. You would also need to ensure that the safety of the classroom environment and of the pupils and enforce the school behaviour policy if required.
Preferred Skills: No formal teaching qualification is required but previous experience working with groups of children is an advantage. If you have experience in roles such as Sports coach, Scout/guide leader, Football team coaching, youth work/ambassador work at Uni etc, this role would be perfect.
If you are currently studying to teach this would also be invaluable experience.


Although support from the permanent staff would always be available, you would need to be assertive and firm with the classes you supervise. Be able to diffuse any behavioural issues and maintain a positive learning environment by forging mutually respectful relationships with the pupils and other members of staff.
