Job Title: School Caretaker
Location: East London
Job Type: Part Time, Temporary

About the Role:
We are currently recruiting a reliable and proactive Caretaker to support a secondary school in East London. This Caretaker role involves maintaining the school site, ensuring it is safe, secure, and well maintained during afternoon and evening hours.

Job Overview:
As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for daily site checks, securing the premises, and carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks. The Caretaker will also support health and safety procedures, assist with the smooth running of the school during lettings, and be responsible for closing and securing the site in the evenings. This role would suit an experienced Caretaker or someone with strong practical maintenance skills.

Working Hours:
* 1.30pm to 6.15pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
* 1.30pm to 7.15pm or 7.30pm on Thursdays due to regular lettings

Contract Details:
* Start date 25th February
* Initial shadowing on 25th and 26th February
* On Thursday 26th, the Caretaker must be able to lock up independently due to evening lettings
* From 27th February, the Caretaker will be working independently
* Initially around 6 weeks cover, with potential for extension
* Availability to work during school holidays would be beneficial

Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and secure the school site
* Carry out minor repairs and maintenance
* Complete daily health and safety checks
* Close, lock, and secure the site each evening
* Support cleaning and waste management
* Assist during school lettings

Requirements:
* Reliable and proactive approach
* Practical maintenance skills
* Good communication and teamwork
* Previous Caretaker or facilities experience preferred
