Job description

Our client, Birmingham City Council is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their Assessment and Short Term Intervention team. (Sutton New Road)

Working within the Assessment and Short Term Intervention (ASTI) team, you will be tasked with assessing the situation of children in need who have been referred to us by the safeguarding teams. Many of these children will be living in precarious situations, so you will review the information presented to you and make decisions on child protection enquiries, making sure legislative requirements are met. Coming up with strategies to protect those at immediate risk, you will ensure the relevant multi-agency partnerships are used effectively, and you will oversee the smooth transition to the long-term teams. Dealing with Birmingham's most challenging environments including social deprivation, this is a fantastic opportunity to really make a difference to the lives of those most in need.

You will need to be:

HCPC registered

Eligible to work in the UK

Post-qualified experience
