Job description
Our client Bedford Borough Council are looking for a Deputy Home Manager to join their team.
JOB PURPOSE:
Deputy Manager of a residential care home supporting the Home Manager in the day to day operations of running the home and maintaining a high quality standard of service to residents.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deputising in the absence of the Home Manager
- Ensuring staffing levels are within required standards and that a suitably skilled mix of staff is available on all shifts to meet the needs of residents.
- Completion of rota's and covering of rota's in the case of annual leave and sickness
- Assessment and risk management of residents care and social needs
- Referrals to external professionals to ensure residents receive prompt support and interventions
- Completion of care documentation
- Supervision of staff and performance management if identified
- Measuring, implementing and reviewing Quality improvements
- Liasing with external professionals as part of a multi disciplinary team to support individuals care needs
- Ensuring all legislative requirements within the care home are complied with
- Health and safety of staff, residents and visitors
- Providing on call support to the home out of normal working hours
- Ordering of medication
- Direction and general supervision of staff including accessing and/or facilitating training and coaching
Essential requirements:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
* Registration with Social Work England
* ASYE completed
