Job description

Our client, Bedford Borough Council is looking for a social worker to join their Adult Safeguarding Team.

You will join a team of Advanced practitioners, and support workers to act as first point of contact for safeguarding concerns for adults with care and support needs. Within this role you will be part of a team responsible for triaging and managing all new safeguarding concerns.
You will need to be motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, a high level of commitment, good analytical skills with evidence of the ability to make clear evidence recommendations to promote effective decision making, and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and partners.
You will support the advanced practitioners in triaging, screening and prioritising safeguarding alerts, gathering additional information to make a decision on the best way to progress with concerns and decide if the threshold for a S42 Enquiry has been met. Give guidance to support workers and administrators, provide advice to frontline staff to ensure the best outcomes for individuals.
You will possess some experience of working with adult safeguarding, have knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity, Making Safeguarding Personal.

Essential requirements:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
* Registration with Social Work England
* ASYE completed
