Job Overview

An outstanding SEND school based in Newham, East London, are on the hunt for an Autism Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated and experienced team on a long term to permanent basis. The school is an SEN school supporting for pupils aged between 4 - 11 years old with Autism ADHD and Dyslexia. Most pupils also have Autism and additional physical/sensory disabilities. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be co-coordinating with various healthcare professional and class teachers. Ensuring that all pupils have the best support.

The ideal Autism Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

Autism Teaching Assistant Requirements:
