Attendance officer - Mainstream Secondary school - Lewisham

Administrative Officer responsibilities include:

  • Advising and helping parents and carers to ensure their children attend school
  • Tracking pupil attendance by collecting and analysing attendance
  • Producing termly reports for the headteacher and governors.

Job brief

We are looking for Attendance Officer to work at a lovely Secondary school based in Lewisham

A successful Attendance Officer will manage children's attendance and reports across the whole school, alongside providing administrative support and managing their queries. The ideal candidate must have sims experience. If you have previous experience as an attendance officer, administrator or similar administrative role, we'd like to meet you. Our ideal candidate also has working knowledge of office equipment and office management tools.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our administrative activities run smoothly on a daily and long-term basis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare regular reports on expenses and office budgets
  • Maintain and update the School databases
  • Schedule in-house and external events
  • Managing data input into parent pay
  • Supporting Heads PA with recruitment-producing adverts, shortlisting, creating recruitment questions
  • Running absence reports
  • Entering new students, daily lates, dentition and behaviour sanctions onto SIMS
  • Producing reports and letters from SIMS
  • Amending existing student and staff details on SIMS

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as an Attendance Officer, Administrative Officer, Administrator or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of office procedures (SIMS)
  • Experience with office management software like MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, specifically)
  • Strong organisation skills with a problem-solving attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • High School diploma; additional qualifications in Office Administration are a plus

Experience, Training and Qualifications of the Attendance Officer:

  • BA degree or any relevant training and experience
  • Experience working in a school office
  • Sims's experience
  • Organised and punctual

  • Hold the right to work in the country of the role
  • DBS certificates
  • Provide specific references
