Job description
Our client St Helens council, is looking for a Assistant Team Manager for their Children and Families team.
This role is within the Duty service, the role is to support the team manager in operational management of a duty team and responses to safeguarding children and those children in need.
The Duty team receive referrals from the MASH and undertake the children and family assessments, identifying levels of need and support plans for children and families.
The right candidate will need to have considerable experience ( at least 3 years) in managing child protection enquiries, charring and facilitating meetings for children's care plans, strategy meetings, CWLA, and court knowledge.
Although the team only manage cases on a short term basis the above knowledge is essential to support the team in managing and responding to children's care planning needs.
Your role will be to support the manager in managing performance, mentoring and supporting staff, managing complex casework, and chairing and facilitating meetings including some strategy meetings.
The right candidate will be an excellent communicator and have excellent organisational skills. An understanding of performance is also essential, and the ability and willingness to work alongside partners and support practice improvement within the service.
This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of being in the office on duty weeks and all other weeks x2 days a week.
