Job description
Our Client, Cardiff Council is looking for Experienced Team Managers to join their Youth Justice Service.
Cardiff Youth Justice Service is looking for a dedicated social work or equivalent, professionally qualified Team Manager on an interim basis pending a service restructure. As an experienced Team Manager you will be responsible for the direct line management of a team who work with young people at risk of, or involved in, the criminal justice system. You will be able to offer guidance and support to staff as well as review and quality check their work. This is an excellent opportunity to develop areas of work outside of supervision, specifically within the Quality Assurance side of youth justice work. You will work within a management team to develop the service, line management through to performance management and implementation.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team to meet objectives, in a supportive way
- Ability to organise self and others in order to prioritise work and achieve targets
- Self motivated and able to work on own initiative
- Comprehensive understanding of, and ability to work within, the legislative and policy framework relating to children in need, children at risk and children being looked after
- Understanding of and commitment to the application of Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Understanding of the importance of management information in the monitoring, planning and review of services
- Good grasp of performance monitoring and the ability to implement information collection against Performance Indicators
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with service users, staff, managers, other agencies and public
- Ability to enable service users and staff to contribute to the planning and development of services
- IT skills
- Commitment to the application of social work values and to achieving the best possible outcomes for children
- Willingness to work outside normal office hours as necessary
What you need:
- QSW Status - including qualification, Social Work England registration and completed ASYE
- A minimum of 2 years' experience
- Right to work in the UK
