ASD Teaching Assistant - Secondary PMLD School - Greenwich

Are you looking to work in a specialist ASD Unit?

Are you a calm, patient and adaptive person?

Do you have experience working with children with Autism?

We are pleased to be recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work as a Teaching Assistant within a Secondary School ASD Unit. The unit is part of Secondary school in Greenwich and caters for Secondary aged children on the Autistic Spectrum. You will be working within a dedicated, experienced team in small classes of around 6 children.

If you are a Teaching Assistant or recent Psychology Graduate and wish to be part of this fantastic team you should:

  • Be a committed to supporting children with a diagnosis of ASD
  • Have experience of working with/being around children with Special Educational Needs
  • Have very strong and confident behaviour management skills
  • Have a calm, adaptive and positive personality
  • Makaton and PECs is desirable but not essential
  • Positive handling training desirable but not essential
