Are you a passionate ASD Teacher looking for a new challenge?

Do you have what it takes to inspire and engage pupils with a diagnosis of Autism and additional needs?

Remedy Education is currently searching for a confident ASD Teacher to join a South East London Secondary Provision starting ASAP. The role will involve teaching a small class of 12 Autistic Children, who fall within the KS3 Phase (ages 11 - 19). All pupils in this provision have a diagnosis of Autism, as well as associated needs/difficulties. You will manage, and work alongside a passionate and dedicated team of Teaching Assistants and receive ongoing support from SLT at school.

The children in the class are working at low ability levels, and therefore this role would suit a ASD Teacher with a background in either Primary and Secondary SEN Education. You will be confident in planning well differentiated lessons/activities that engage students and assist with their development in all areas, including sensory development.

The ideal ASD Teacher will be passionate about providing the highest levels of care and education to students with Autism. You will be patient, kind and compassionate and have an ability to build a strong rapport with students and parents alike. This role will be incredibly rewarding and would suit an experienced ASD Teacher who is looking to further develop their skillset as the school offers lots of CPD and progression opportunities.

The contract will start ASAP until end of the school year in July in the first instance. For a successful ASD Teacher there may be a permanent job offer in September 2022.

Paid trial days to start as soon as possible!

To Apply for this ASD Teacher Worker role you will have:

  • Ideally previous experience working within a Complex Needs School (preferred but not essential)
  • Ideally 1 years minimum experience teaching SEN within a Primary or Secondary Setting
  • A calm, confident demeanour with a proactive attitude
  • A clear, enhanced DBS on the update service (or the means to apply for a new one)
  • Contact details for 2 recent references
