Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) to work within Ealing Council.

Job Purpose

• Deciding whether to make an application for a compulsory admission to hospital for assessment or for treatment under Part 2 of the Act (S13)
• Deciding whether to make an application for guardianship S7 of the Act (S13)
• Informing or consulting the Nearest Relative about an application (S11)
• Conveying a patient to hospital (or a place of residence) on the basis of an application as above (S6)
• Responding to a referral from an NR for an MHA assessment, and, if application is not made, giving the reasons for this in writing to the NR (S13(4))
• Providing a social circumstances report for the hospital of any patient detained on the basis of an application made by the NR (S14)
• Confirming that a CTO should be made and agreeing to any conditions (S17A)
• Agreeing to the extension of a CTO (S20A)
• Agreeing to the revocation of a CTO (S17F)
• Applying to the county court for the displacement of an existing NR and/or the appointment of an acting NR (S29)
• Having the right to enter and inspect premises where a mentally disordered patient is living (S115)
• Applying for a warrant under Section 135 to search for and remove a patient to a place of safety (S135)
• Having the power to take the patient into custody and take them to the place they ought to be when they have gone absent without leave (AWOL) (S138)
• Interviewing a patient arrested by the police on Section 136 (S136(2))
• Making a decision on whether a patient is subject to section 136 should be moved from one place of safety to another (S136(3))

You will need to be:

SWE registered
