Achieving for Children's Short Term Child in Need (CiN) team offers interim support to their Safeguarding and Referral and Assessment Teams where cases may need additional support after assessment.

The team works closely with the Safeguarding Team and Referral and Assessment Team to support children and families who may need additional intervention and support. The objective of the team is to assess and support vulnerable children and families on a short term basis with an aim to deter cases from moving towards statutory intervention. The team will also support cases to transition to the Safeguarding Team if a child is at risk of significant harm.
About the role

Their Short Term Child in Need Team will manage both Child in Need and Child protection cases when their Referral and Assessment Teams and Safeguarding Teams are at capacity.

The nature of the role is varied and requires skilled social workers with a knowledge of both referral and assessment and Safeguarding. Duties may include but not limited to;
● Undertaking Single Assessments

● Carrying out child protection enquiries

● Direct work with children and young people

● Chairing Child in Need and Core Group Meetings

● Attending Initial Child Protection conferences
