Outreach Tutor Opportunity - Immediate Start (RM8)

We are looking for a confident and compassionate Outreach Tutor to start immediately, working with a bright and capable Year 9 student who is moving into Year 10. Based in the RM8 area, this is a meaningful opportunity for someone experienced in alternative provision or one-to-one support to make a genuine impact.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a one-to-one teaching environment and is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

About the Role

  • Job Title: Outreach Tutor

  • Start Date: Immediate

  • Location: RM8 (student's home)

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday

  • Hours: 2 hours per day (1 hour English, 1 hour Maths)

  • Duration: Ongoing

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, high-level tuition in both Maths and English

  • Provide academic structure and emotional consistency to support a student with anxiety

  • Build a positive working relationship while maintaining strong professional boundaries

  • Help the student remain on track with learning, aiming for GCSE outcomes

  • Monitor progress and adapt sessions to suit the student's evolving needs

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working as an Outreach Tutor or with students outside of mainstream settings

  • Strong knowledge of GCSE English and Maths

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH, especially anxiety-related school avoidance

  • A calm, resilient, and confident approach

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Ability to work independently in a home-based setting
