Job description

Teaching Assistants (PMLD)

Greenwich, South East London

September 2020 Start

Remedy Education is currently working with an outstanding all through SEN school in Greenwich, who are recruiting several specialist Teaching Assistants to start in September. All positions are full time, ongoing.

The school caters for students aged 11-19 with an EHCP for PMLD and SLD. Being in a state-of-the-art building, allows the school to have a wealth of resources, including sensory rooms and a hydro pool.

Shortlisted candidates must have previous SEN experience, especially with PMLD and complex needs. You will be working in a class of 4-6 pupils providing 1:1 support. Due to the medical needs of students experience of PEG feeding and manual handling is a must, personal care is mandatory and a responsibility that must be carried out by all staff. Many students at the school are non-verbal, therefore experience of PECs and Makaton is also required.

The school is looking for dedicated and compassionate staff, who are willing to work to a high standard. In return, they will offer excellent pay rates and a friendly working environment.

Key skills and experience needed:

  • Experience supporting children and young adults with PMLD and complex needs
  • Previous support work within a school or other child related experience
  • One to one and small group work
  • Professional manor
  • Enthusiasm and friendly approach

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. You will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS if your current DBS is not on the update service.

Remedy is a committed Equal Opportunities Employer and therefore will not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation.

If you are looking for a rewarding role in SEND and want to make difference, we want to hear from you! Please submit your CV today or you can contact Carly Walters on or via email
