SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Hornchurch, Havering
Salary: £95 - £105 (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: Immediate Start

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives? Do you have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and supportive SEN school community in Enfield.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with a range of Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Help students with academic tasks, social interaction, and emotional development.
  • Work on a one-to-one basis or with small groups to ensure pupils are fully supported.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies in collaboration with teaching staff and SENCO.
  • Monitor and report on the progress and wellbeing of students.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting (desirable but not essential).
  • A caring, patient, and positive attitude with a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to working in a dynamic school environment.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare of all pupils.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or similar) are desirable but not essential.
