Qualified Teacher of Visual Impairments

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Teacher of Visual Impairment who has QTS Status for one of our SEND schools in Wandsworth. The role will be temporary cover starting ASAP.

About the role:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Qualified Teacher of Visual Impairments to join a vibrant, well-run and dynamic inclusion service in Wandsworth at one of their SEND schools. This role would suit someone who has worked in either a mainstream or SEND schools and has experience working with visually impaired pupils. Previous school-based experience is essential. Responsibilities will include:

  • To plan and deliver a curriculum specialised towards visually impaired pupils and keep track of pupil attainment and progress
  • To identify and meet the needs of visually impaired / pupils with blindness
  • Maintain high standards and outcomes for all children in the provision

To qualify for this role you will need:

  • Experience working with visually impaired / pupils with blindness
  • Have a passion for working with SEND pupils and be enthusiastic about making learning accessible to all
  • You will need to have Qualified Teaching Status
  • Have a current Enhanced DBS (ideally on the update service) - if you don't have one we can support you in applying for a new one
