About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Spanish & French Teacher to join our vibrant and dedicated Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department at a forward-thinking secondary school in Stevenage. The successful candidate will have the ability to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, and ideally Key Stage 5, fostering a love of languages and intercultural understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality teaching in both Spanish and French across the relevant key stages.

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with national curriculum requirements.

• Assess, track, and report on student progress to ensure all pupils achieve their potential.

• Create a stimulating learning environment that promotes enjoyment of languages.

• Contribute to the development and enrichment of the MFL curriculum.

• Participate fully in departmental meetings, school training, and extra-curricular activities.

• Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding student progress.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Degree in Modern Foreign Languages or a related field.

• Proven experience teaching Spanish and French at secondary level (KS3-KS4, KS5 desirable).

• Excellent subject knowledge and a strong grasp of language pedagogy.

• Strong classroom management skills with a commitment to inclusive education.

• Passionate about student achievement and personal development.

Desirable:

• Experience with GCSE and A-Level examination preparation.

• Ability to contribute to school trips, exchanges, or extracurricular language clubs.
