Teaching Assistant Needed Now! SLD and complex needs

Remedy Education are working with a special school (3-19) for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties in Lambeth. The school is committed to pupil progress and celebrating the achievement of the individual child and are now looking to take on several new TA's to join their friendly team from September 2021!

They are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and dynamic Teaching Assistants on a full-time temp to permanent basis. Duties will include supporting the Teacher in the delivery of the curriculum and all aspects of classroom work. It is a physical job (using slings and hoists) and will also use PECS and Makaton to communicate to non-verbal students. Teaching Assistant daily duties involve manual handling and Team Teach Techniques as you will be working with pupils that have ASD, SLD & PMLD. You will need to be conscientious, reliable and hard-working and be able to work on your own initiative as well as being able to support the team.

We offer a wide range of CPD training to support our staff with their careers by upskilling their experience, skillset, qualifications and knowledge.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. In addition to this, the school requires each member of staff to have or be willing to apply for an Enhanced Child & Adult DBS.

Remedy Education is a committed Equal Opportunities Employer and therefore will not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability or sexual orientation. Please note that successful applicants will be asked to apply for an enhanced DBS check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
