Service Manager - Wigan Council - Up to £350per day!

This role will be within the Integrated Services section of Wigan Council's children's services which covers the Start Well Service and Targeted Youth Support Service. The main aspects of this role will be to provide managerial support and leadership to improve our Early Help practice and performance in our Start Well Service, along with some support to our partners including schools, health and early years settings. The candidate will support the service lead with the transition work in preparation for a forthcoming Ofsted inspection. The candidate will also offer support to the Targeted Youth Support Service who are expecting an inspection by HMIP in the coming weeks.

The position is offered for up to three months whilst a permanent candidate is recruited. The candidate will need to demonstrate significant experience in the early help field with particular skills in supporting managers and staff to reflect on practice, improve quality and consistency of practice, auditing of case files, production of service improvement plans and supporting effective culture change.

Reporting to the service lead for integrated services the candidate will support three locality start well teams and the five start well family centres with providing some support to the three targeted youth support teams.

Given the immediate need to improve practice the candidate will need to demonstrate significant experience in early help and practice improvement at service manager level or above.
