Job description

Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Service Manager to work within Barking and Dagenham Councils Assessment Team on a permanent basis.

Job Purpose

  • To lead and Provide overall operational and strategic management of a Service Area within Children's Care and Support
  • To ensure the effective and timely delivery of appropriate intervention and support services to children and their families
  • To ensure that national, local and service performance targets and priorities are met.
  • To ensure that the Service delivers consistently high standards of practice, good customer focus and effective professional interface.
  • To ensure Children's Care and Support is run as an effective and efficient business

Specific Accountabilities of the Role

  • To provide strong, visible service leadership and professional supervision in order to motivate, manage and develop service staff to deliver a culture of high-quality performance and continuous improvement.
  • To directly supervise and appraise multiple managers, who are each responsible for multiple teams made up of social workers, Intervention workers, partners &/or students
  • To ensure that an effective duty system is in place for the service area.
  • To drive excellent casework practice and best outcomes for children and young people.
  • To set up and ensure the maintenance of appropriate electronic systems to ensure that performance targets are monitored and met and that areas of performance risk identified are addressed in a timely way.
  • To monitor and ensure timely allocations, through hput, and closures of casework as appropriate.
  • To keep an oversight of the court work within the service and ensure compliance with court timetables, giving clear instructions to legal colleagues.

  • SWE registered
  • Eligible to work in the UK
