Job description

Remedy Recruitment Group are looking for a Service Improvement and Projects Officer to join Hackney Council.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Provide high quality project delivery support on a range of projects across the Children and Families Service, of varying complexity and size. Use structured project management methodology, including agile and other project methodologies, as appropriate to the specific project and use relevant tools and project documentation (e.g. updating project plans; risk/issue logs etc) to ensure effective management and progress of projects. Deliver change and influence outcomes in the Children and Families Service by implementing project milestones in line with agreed project goals. Develop and update project documentation including project plans, risk registers, issue logs, business cases, terms of reference and highlight reports. Support with the coordination of funding bids to support projects within the Children and Families Service, working alongside practice leads as appropriate. Support governance arrangements for projects as required, for example project boards and working groups, ensuring these have clear terms of reference and are run in an organised way and are driving the progress of projects. Plan, deliver and facilitate workshops and events to support the development and delivery of project / programme outcomes. Undertake qualitative and quantitative research and analysis to inform project opportunities and support business cases for change. Produce reports and briefing notes that present findings and make recommendations for an audience of Senior Management. Lead on service improvement work linked to associated projects or identified through the Children and Families Service quality assurance framework. Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that project work is delivered on time and to scope. Identify risks and issues and raise these in the most appropriate forum and propose mitigating solutions. Work closely with senior managers /strategic leads in the delivery of key project milestones. Develop effective cross-service working relationships with managers and staff involved in projects. Develop project communications plans and work with communications leads to ensure that this is delivered. Work with colleagues across the Council in order to actively manage project interdependence's and to link with support from other relevant teams in the Council including the Policy and Strategic Delivery Team and the Change Support Team. Design the criteria and approach for evaluating/measuring the success of delivering intended project outputs. On the completion of projects manage this evaluation and feed lessons learnt back into the project community. Actively consider the impact of systemic and everyday racism and oppression upon the lives of children and families, and our workforce, and the impact and learning about professional practice in this context. Ensure that social work values and ethics alongside our Children and Families Systemic Principles and values and anti-racist position statement are embedded in our projects and service improvement work. Support and contribute to other projects and service improvement work within the Children and Families Service as required.
