Job description

Remedy are seeking a skilled and experienced SEN tutor that is passionate and dedicated to improving the lives of SEN children and adults.

You will ideally have experience providing 1:1 and small group tuition for students with a range of Special Educational Needs, including but not limited to, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia.

You should feel confident in your ability to:
  • Assess, plan and implement bespoke lessons to meet the individual learning needs and abilities of each student
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, adapting teaching methods and materials to ensure student progress
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents, carers, and school staff
  • Maintain up-to-date records of student progress and achievements
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, encouraging their confidence and self-esteem
Requirements:
  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and often challenging behaviours
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students that have disengaged from learning
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to making a difference in student's lives
  • An enhanced DBS check (ideally on the update service)
  • Previous experience working within a school or tutoring environment
  • Specific training or qualifications related to SEN, such as TEACCH, Makaton, or Autism Awareness - desirable
