SEN Teaching Assistant - Complex Needs Provision (Primary School, Dagenham)
Pay: £96-£115 per day

We are seeking a confident, resilient, and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs within a small provision in a mainstream primary school in Dagenham. The children are awaiting specialist placements and present with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, cognitive delays, and limited communication skills.

This is a highly rewarding role where you will work as part of a supportive team to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for pupils who require a high level of consistency and care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with autism, ADHD, and cognitive delays

• Assist children with limited communication using supportive strategies

• Work collaboratively with the staff team to maintain a positive and structured setting

• Support with personal care, including toileting and feeding, when required

• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning

• Help create a nurturing environment that supports the needs and development of each child

Requirements:

• Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, or complex learning needs

• Comfortable with personal care and high-needs support

• Confident, calm, and able to work collaboratively as part of a close team

• Strong understanding of communication and sensory needs

• A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach

• The school has expressed a preference for a male candidate due to the needs and dynamics of the group, but they are open to considering any strong applicant
