SEN Teaching Assistant | Long Term| ASD/ADHD | September Start

Remedy Education are seeking an amazing SEN Teaching Assistant who specialises in ADHD and ASD to join one of our most exciting schools in East London. As an SEN Teaching Assistant we require you to support children diagnosed with ASD and ADHD within a Secondary School setting.

The school has strong supporting team who strives to be the best in every aspect of education, facilitating a network of dedicated staff who want to make a difference to young pupils future.

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Start: ASAP

Contract: Full time

Location: Islington, North London

School Type: Secondary

Rate: £95-115 per day

Ideal Candidate:

  • Assisting in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies.
  • Extensive SLD/ASD/SEMH & Complex needs experience preferably.
  • Supervising and supporting a classroom in a group setting.
  • Supporting with behaviour management.
  • Undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities to ensure achievement of learning goals.
  • Establishing good relationships with children, acting as a role model.
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children, supporting difference and ensuring that all have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
  • Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviours.
  • Safeguarding experience.
  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students.
