SEN Teaching Assistant | Full Time | South East London

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: SE7, South East London

Contract: Full time (Long Term Contract)

Start: November 2024

Setting: Primary School

Rate: £90-105 per day

We are looking for an outstanding SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our leading schools in Crystal Palace for the entire academic year.. For SEN Teaching assistant role you will be supporting a year 6 ASD boy who has social interactions needs in a 1:1 setting. The child is high functioning and can manage daily tasks quite well but struggles to regulate experiences in class. The school is thriving and always delivers the best support for all their SEND students and staffing members.

You will collaborate with the classroom teacher and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

Requirements:
