Key Responsibilities for a KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide individualised support to students with ASD and SEMH needs, promoting their well-being and encouraging positive behaviour.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and other professionals to develop tailored educational plans that meet the specific needs of each student.
- Assist in implementing effective teaching strategies and interventions to enhance the learning experience for students with SEN.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, creating a safe space where students can thrive and reach their full potential.
- Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.
Requirements of a KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working as a KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant, ideally with a focus on ASD and SEMH.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN, demonstrating empathy, patience, and understanding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Knowledge of effective SEN teaching strategies and interventions, as well as a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Relevant qualifications and certifications in SEN support are desirable but not essential.
