Job description
SEN Post-16 Teacher - Barnet
Start date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long term
Remedy Education are looking for a teacher to take on a Post-16 class in a specialist school in Barnet. The students have a range of needs including complex autism, difficulties with communication, and challenges around emotional regulation.
This role will suit a teacher who is confident in leading a small class, can adapt lessons to individual needs, and is able to create a calm, structured environment where students can make progress both in their learning and personal development.
What the role involves:
Teaching a Post-16 class with a focus on functional skills, independence and life skills.
Planning and adapting lessons so that they meet individual EHCP targets.
Supporting students with their communication, using tools such as visuals, PECS or AAC if required.
Managing behaviour positively and helping young people with emotional regulation.
Working with LSAs, therapists and families to ensure consistency and support for each student.
Keeping accurate records of progress and contributing to reviews.
What we are looking for:
A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience in SEN.
Someone who has worked with Post-16 students, ideally with autism and complex needs.
A patient, resilient teacher who can stay calm under pressure.
Good at working as part of a team, as well as leading a group confidently.
If you're a teacher looking for a new SEN role in Barnet as soon as possible, and you have experience with autism and complex needs, please get in touch with Zeki at Remedy Education to discuss this opportunity.
