Summary

Remedy Education are currently recruiting a number of energetic, fully committed and experienced SEN TAs / SEN Teaching Assistants / LSAs / Learning Support Assistants for special schools in Lewisham. Successful candidates will be supporting students with Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience of supporting students with special educational needs, particularly with PMLD, SLD and ASD/ASC. We welcome candidates with care worker background as well as recent graduates who are looking to build their experience working with SEN pupils. We also welcome candidates who never worked in school settings but has transferrable skills supporting students with special educational needs.

Main Duties

You will be supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). Many of the students will communicate non-verbally, so being able to use Makaton or PECs will be ideal. You will also assess individual learning needs and work on a group basis.

Requirements

Recent experience and a genuine passion for working with SEN pupils is essential. All applicants will need to hold a current enhanced DBS and be fully compliant to work in the UK.
