Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant - Brent

Start: ASAP | Mainstream Primary School with Specialist SEND Provision

Remedy Education are currently supporting a large, inclusive primary school in Brent that is looking to appoint a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision within the school.

The school has a strong inclusive ethos and a well-established SEND team. The provision supports pupils with a range of complex needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs and global developmental delay. Many pupils follow personalised learning programmes and benefit from structured routines and therapeutic support.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive leadership team and work in a setting where inclusion and pupil wellbeing are a genuine priority.


The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support within the school's specialist SEND provision

  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning

  • Follow personalised support plans and EHCP targets

  • Assist with personal care where required, including toileting and feeding

  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCO and external professionals

  • Help create a calm, structured and positive learning environment

  • Encourage independence, confidence and social development


The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD and complex learning needs

  • Calm, patient and resilient with strong behaviour management skills

  • Confident working with non-verbal pupils or those with limited communication

  • Comfortable supporting personal care needs

  • A strong team player who values consistency and collaboration

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
