SEN Maths & Science Teacher - KS3/KS4
Location: Lewisham
Start: ASAP
Hours: Full-time, Term-time
Are you an experienced Maths and Science teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs?
We are looking for a dedicated SEN teacher to join a specialist school, working primarily with KS3 and KS4 students. This role combines subject teaching with pastoral responsibilities, as you will also act as a form tutor for a small KS4 group.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach Maths to GCSE level and Science to at least Entry Level for KS3 and KS4 pupils.
Act as a form tutor for a Year 10 group of 10 pupils, providing pastoral care and guidance.
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet a range of SEN needs.
Work closely with teaching assistants to create a supportive classroom environment.
Cover occasional lessons in ASDAN/PSHE across KS3 and KS4.
Build positive relationships with pupils, promoting confidence, independence, and emotional well-being.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - not suitable for ECTs.
Strong background in SEN education (preferably in an SEN school).
Proven ability to support students with autism, communication difficulties, and social/emotional needs.
Confident teaching Maths up to GCSE and Science to Entry Level.
Fluent in English (native or equivalent).
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
